Viewing/Reading an Announcement

Announcements are used by your teacher to communicate with you about the logistics of your course. Your teacher may use Announcements to:

• Remind you what you need to accomplish to stay on track.
• Point you to internal and external resources that will help you achieve course outcomes.
• Leave a message for the entire class with video or audio comments.
• Celebrate student success and important events that may be of interest to you..

Step 1

For an announcement, click the Expand button to read the whole message.

• Notes: The sign "Read" indicates that you haven't read the full message of this announcement.

Step 2

The whole message displays.

• If the announcement has a link in it, click the link to open the linked page.
• If the announcement has attachments in it, click the Download link to download the file.
• After you've read it, click the Collapse button to collapse the message.
