Courseware Content Types
ULearning allows teachers to create and include various types of content in courseware. Here are the different content types you may encounter:
1. Rich text with images, links, etc.
- This type of content may contain text, images, and hyperlinks.
- If the page contains this type of content only, the system will record your page learning as completed as you load this page.
2. Content with exercise questions
- Teachers can insert 13 types of questions into courseware pages.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the exercise questions.
- After completing the questions, click the Submit button.
- Your exercise results will be displayed.
Notes: The teacher can determine:
- How many attempts allowed to do the excise?
- If retry is allowed or not.
- If the correct answer will be displayed after being submitted or not.
3. Content with embedded video from social media (e.g., YouTube)
- This content is similar to rich text with images and links.
- Use the video player to handle and navigate through the content.
4. Content with embedded documents (Word, PDF, PPT, etc.)
- Click the "Click to view document" link to open the file within the courseware viewer.
5. To view the document in a larger screen, click the "Full Screen" button
- Use the document viewer tools to zoom in/out and navigate through the pages.
- Click the "Full Screen" button to return to the courseware screen.
6. Content with video inserted by your teacher
- When you watch this video for the first time, a message will indicate that dragging the playhead is disabled.
- The page will be marked as "Completed" only after watching the entire video.
- Click the "Got it" button.
- The video progress status will be marked as "unviewed" in the bottom right corner of the video player.
- Click the "Play" button to start watching the video.
- As you watch, the video progress status will change to "Partially finished" and update with the percentage completed.
- To watch the video in full-screen mode, click the "Full Screen" button.
- After finishing the video, the video progress status will change to "Finished." If the page only has rich text and this video, the page's progress status will be marked with a check sign.
7. Content with the Spoken English Test component
- When you enter a page with a spoken English test, a message will prompt you to ensure that Flash is enabled in your web browser for voice recording.
- Click the "X" button to close the message.
- The teacher may provide an audio sample for pronunciation/spoken English practice. You can click the "Play" button to listen to it (optional).
- The teacher can test your spoken English for words, sentences, and paragraphs. When ready, click the "Record" button and read aloud the testing content.
Note: Make sure you are in a quiet room and your mouth is close to the microphone of your PC or mobile device.
- Click the red recording wave to end the recording.
- The system will automatically grade your recording and display your Spoken English Test score on the right side, along with the total attempts given by the teacher and the number of attempts you have used.
- You can click the "Audio" button next to the Record button to listen to your recording.
Note: Your teacher can give you up to 3 attempts for the Spoken English Test.
8. Content with audio
- Your teacher may or may not add subtitles to the audio.
- To listen to the audio, click the "Play" button.
9. Content with annotated audio
- This is similar to the previous audio content type.
- The difference is that the audio can be annotated with rich text by your teacher.
- To listen to the annotated audio, click the "Play" button.
